Retailers target 'flash sale' rivals.

Feb 20, 2011 (The Australian Financial Review - ABIX via COMTEX) -- HauteLook in the US is an example of the growing segment of "flash sales" providers on the internet that offer consumers goods at vast discounts but for a limited time only. It has been acquired by department store chain Nordstrom, and experts forecast that similar deals involving traditional retail groups as buyers are also on the agenda in Australia. The targets could be businesses including brandsExclusive and Ozsale. Already department store chain David Jones has announced plans to expand its online activities.
