Fed: Aust soldier loses toes in encounter with Afghan landmine
Australia's first casualty in the war on terror lost two toes after stepping on a landminein southern Afghanistan.
The Australian Defence Force says the SAS soldier was with a group searching for Talibanand al-Qaeda members at the time.
None of his colleagues were injured by the blast.
